Professional Development with PRSA

One of the benefits of being a member of the Public Relations Society of America is that PRSA offers a lot of PR professional development that you can take online.

PRSA has many learning opportunities for every kind of PR practitioner. No matter what skills you’d like to sharpen, from writing to crisis communications to how to be a consultant, PRSA probably has something to offer you.

Members have access to a wide collection of certificate programs, webinars, workshops, online training on demand and case study presentations. If you are a member, many of these resources are free or discounted. Plus, if you have earned the Accreditation in Public Relations, the training gives you credits toward maintaining your APR status.

If you’re not a member, you can expect to pay $200 or more per course. So, if you think you’re going to take more than one course, it’s worth paying for an annual membership, which is $260, plus a $65 initiation fee.

Presenters include:

  • Michael Smart, a trainer and coach who’s trained more than 10,000 communicators worldwide

  • Ann Wylie, president, Wylie Communications, who teaches about writing and works with communicators who want to reach more readers

  • Lisa Arledge Powell, president of MediaSource, an award-winning creative agency, and a popular conference presenter

  • J.W. Arnold, APR, Fellow PRSA, an independent practitioner and award-winning publicist, marketer and event planner
