Fees + Expenses
My fees are based on hours worked, plus expenses, for the services provided. A portion of the fee may be requested as a deposit.
⏳Hourly Rates
Ongoing Programs: $75
Projects: $80
Crisis + Rush Jobs: $150
Travel is billed at one half of the applicable rate, except:
Overnight travel, which is full rate, with a minimum of eight hours per day
Travel for crisis situations, which is full rate
🎁 Specialty Packages
If a client prefers, I can provide a per-project fee that is based on the project rate and my best estimate of how much time the work will take. With this approach, you will know upfront how much the total project will cost. If I should end up needing more time to complete the work than I estimated, that will be at no additional cost to you.
Terms
Work will begin upon receipt of signed contract and, if applicable, the deposit payment. Invoices are due 30 days upon receipt. If a bill remains unpaid after 60 days, work may discontinued until payments are received to make your account current. Sunflower Communications reserves the right to terminate an account for non-payment. Additional terms and conditions are set forth in the contract.
Why Different Rates?
Why do I charge higher per-hour fees for projects as opposed to ongoing programs, and even higher rates for crisis and other special situations?
Ongoing programs have annual budgets and long-term objectives. They provide a degree of stability and predictability, enabling me to plan and manage my resources more efficiently and pass on to my clients some of the savings from that efficiency.
Project work is less stable and less predictable. Providing the same high quality of service on a project basis can mean having to place unanticipated demands on my resources on a tight deadline, while making sure that my work for my ongoing clients doesn’t suffer. My project rate takes into account those and other variables, such as the potential to contract for vendor services to handle a client’s needs.
In a crisis, I have little or no control over how I manage my time. The client and the situation determine the schedule. In addition, crisis projects require an extraordinary amount of time and attention to complex and sensitive issues while meeting tight deadlines and not letting service suffer for my other clients. This is a premium service with rates that reflect that.
